2016 Homecoming Candidates
Candidates for queen are Macy Frost and Nichole Belisle, juniors; Geneva McGrath and Sabrina Snider, seniors. Candidates for princess are Peyton Self and Bailey Anderson, freshmen; Brandy Hough and Meghan Simmons, sophomores. Homecoming is Sept. 30 against Adrian.

Congratulations to the 13 Track Athletes who qualified for State. The track meet will be held at Jefferson City High School May 20-21.
HS boys and JH boys won the 2016 WEMO track championship.
The HS boys have won it 2 years in a row, and the JH boys won it for the first time in school history!
Congrats to the girls as well as the JH finished 4th and the HS girls finished 2nd with only 5 HS girls!
State music results: Xu Shang received a 1 rating on clarinet solo.
Eric Strange a 3 on tuba solo.

Miscellaneous ensemble got a 2 and consisted of Eric Strange, Taylor Smart, Kelsea Tyson and Celeste Sole.
FBLA members qualify for Nationals in 2 events: Xu Shang, Computer Game & Simulation Programming; Morgan Jones, Nathan Piccoli, and Johnathon Lewis, Digital Video Production.
FFA State Awards
David Zink placed 1st in the state in the Outdoor Recreation Proficiency Award Area and will compete at Nationals. Hannah Wheeler selected for Missouri Business Academy and Bethany Quessenberry selected for State FFA Talent to sing the National Anthem at State convention.

OHS Athletes Selected for All-Star Football Game
Drew Carney, Johnny Lewis, and Marek Thompson were selected to play in the 2016 Sertoma Grin Iron Classic All Star Football Game on Friday, June 3, @ JFK Stadium @ 7:30 pm in Springfield, MO. This is an all-star game that selects the best football athletes in all classes in Southwest Missouri. Drew will be Punting and Kicking, Johnny will play Inside Linebacker, and Marek will play Defensive Line.
Teacher and Associate of the Year
2015-2016 teachers of the year are Kim Wheeler and Landa Erwine.
The Associate of the Year is Ty Davis.
Senior Mariah Maxwell was crowned queen and Freshman Kait Coleman princess. Other candidates for princess were freshmen Morgan Williams and sophomores Hannah Wheeler & Lauren Arduser. Other candidates for queen were juniors Megan Marisipini & Jasmine Dryer and senior Hayley Taylor.

Football Academic All State
Johnathan Lewis, Marek Thompson, and Nathan Piccoli were elected to the 2015 MFCA Football Academic All State Team. Had to be a starter on offense or defense and meet 2 of 3 criteria of 3.5 gpa, 25 act, or top 10% of class. Congrats!
Volleyball Academic All State
and Lacey Self
made the Volleyball Academic All-State Team with a 3.6 or higher cumulative GPA and played in at least 75% of games.
OHS Athlete to Play in National Football Game
Johnathon Lewis has been selected to play for the US National Football Team vs Canada National Football Team on January 31, 2016, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.

"First time in 29 years that Osceola Football is WEMO Conference Champs. Great accomplishment and great effort by our young men who represent our football program and school. I am extremely proud of them and ready to see what they can do down the stretch." Coach Carney
Lady Indians volleyball wins District Championship
Homecoming was held September 25, 2015, with an Indian win over Archie. During halftime Kaylee McClimans was crowned Princess and Bethany Quessenberry was crowned Queen. Candidates for princess were: Kaylee McClimans and Millie Jefferis, freshmen; Hannah Davison and Angelica Heyer, sophomores. Candidates for queen were: Sabrina Snider and Alexis Duffy, juniors; Bethany Quessenberry and Alison Brown, seniors.
State Track 2015: Congratulations to our 4x100m Relay State Champions: Rylan Sommer, Driston Self, Logan DeWitt, Eli Mitchell.
Sectional Track: OHS had a great sectional track meet as we have 11 athletes moving on in 13 events to the State Track meet this weekend @ Jefferson City.
Murray to Sign Letter of Intent
Jacob Murray will be signing his letter of intent Thursday, 5/14/15, to play basketball at Ottawa University.
Football Honors for OHS Seniors
Congrats to Dallas and Driston Self as they are selected to play in the 2015 Sertoma Grin Iron Classic All Star Football Game on June 5 at JFK Stadium @ 7:30pm in Springfield, MO. This is an all-star game that selects the best football athletes in all classes in Southwest Missouri. Dallas will be playing receiver and Driston will be playing defensive back.
Also, Driston was named to the 2014-2015 Best of SW Missouri Preps. This is an award where they select the best athletes in SW Missouri to be recognized at a formal banquet. Former NFL QB Joe Montana will be the guest speaker. The banquet will be held in Springfield on June 4.
OHS Boys Track Team Wins Districts
Congrats to the Osceola boys as they won Districts as a team (1st time in school history!!!) Also, congrats to Marek Thompson for breaking both the shot put and discus record. He broke his own record in shot put with a throw of 48'3" and he broke Jim Tyson's discus record of 155'1" set back in 1993 with a throw of 161 feet!!!

Alexus Rietcheck signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Fort Scott.

FFA State Winner 2015
Makayla Delcour won 1st in the Fruit Production Proficiency award area at the FFA State Convention and will now compete on the National level.

Congratulations to Xu Shang for placing 3rd and qualifying for Nationals in Computer Game & Simulation Programming event at the Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference.
FCCLA State Winners 2015
All 5 students that competed at the state level competition have made it to the national level and will be competing in Washington DC July 5-9. Very proud of all of them.
- Hannah Wheeler- earned top gold in the state and was also chosen as a leader to watch which was voted on by everyone at the conference!
- Kait Coleman & Melanie Reynolds- earned top gold in the state!
- Zach Vaughn & Gerrit Brouwer - 2nd place gold!

Self to Sign at Central Methodist
Congrats to Driston Self as he will be signing to play football at Central Methodist next week on signing day, Feb. 4th. The signing will take place at the college at Central Methodist.
OHS Athlete to Play in National All-Star Football Game
Driston Self will be playing the the National Blue/Grey Football All Star game on Sunday, December 14, at 7pm at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, TX. Driston is a 2 time All State DB for Osceola and was selected SWMOFBCA Defensive Player of the Year for class 1 in 2014. He was awarded the Coaches Association for All State with a unanimous vote from all coaches in 2014. Here is the information on the game.
